Auxillary Heater - 180 mins use maximum ?

We camped for 4 days recently and needed the aux heater. On the second night though it stopped working and we froze.
Feedback from VW is that you can only run the heater for 180 mins. After this time the vehicle has to be started and driven over 4miles/hour to restart the timer limit.

I find this hard to believe as that would mean the heater would not go through the night?

Our Cali is a 2020 6.1 Ocean.

Is that the same experience for others ?

Watch this. There are two options. Heat continuously will run for days if you battery is good and you have fuel. Your VW contact doesn't know what they are talking about.

Yes. I hadn’t realised there were two options. I was using the remote control
