We're thinking of grabbing a quick week in October to see if we can see some of the (back end of the) Raptor migrations. Any recommendations for campsites on the Western/Basque Pyrenees?

Possibly too far east for you, but we loved this place and the owners are fantastic. Small site with a
good heated loo and shower block, a library and bar and a little shop with fresh eggs and a small range of provisions. It's on our go back to list

Camping Bord de Mer in St Jean de Luz is a lovely site, on the beach and a shortish walk to town. Not in Pyrenees but not far?

Thanks Chris&Penny - we spotted that one last night and thought it looked like a stunning place. Great to have a recommendation.

Oggie, we like st Jean De Luz a lot but have only stayed in hotels there before. We may do a night on the way there or back.

Thanks!

We preferred Inter Plages near St Jean de Luz; stunning views!

It's a lovely area; our mates have a place we stayed at overlooking the Pyrenees. Stayed under an open barn for four nights there.
