"Bike Porn"-your rides and how/where you use them

Gatwick Airport to Brighton on the Triplet with Veteran Cars. On the final leg from the boundary of Brighton to Marine Parade we followed three veteran penny farthings built 1885 or 1886.

Any triathletes on here? If so what bike rack would you recommend for a TT bike? Are the VW ones ok?

Most of the bike carriers use a wheel securing strap and then a frame clamp. Unless your tri-bike is very un bike shaped, most should work, including the VW rear door carrier. I went for a tow ball mounted one. I was only just able to fit a CX bike, mountain bike and tri-bike on it but it works best for only two bikes. For a high-value and normally clean tri-bike I would often carry it inside the campervan as I’m mostly on my own when I use it.

Speaking of bikes as a hobby for the last ten years my path has been something like buying the first a bit better bike - Bianchi Via Nirone road bike - getting bored with the tarmac roads and buying proper MTB (Trek Fuel EX8), buying the first fat bike for winter practicing (Felt DD30), buying a hybrid for commuting, selling the MTB and buying a new one, selling the fat bike and buying a frame-kit for building a new one, selling the road and hybrid bikes and buying a cyclo-cross as compromise and so on... so that the current fleet consists of:

Cube Stereo HPC140 full-suspension mountain bike; suits very well to our "technical" trails, works on the occasional visits to bike parks and yet light enough for some all-mountain races (have two pair of wheels - original alloy ones as well as DT Swiss XMC1200 CF rims with rather different type of tires - making this very universal at least in my eyes). This is the one most often traveling on the Fiamma bike rack of my California together with a Cube Sting.

Cube Crossrace, not as light & quick as a real road bike but gives the possibility to explore some gravel roads as well (and hopefully starts to work as the commuting tool soon as well).

Salsa Beargrease Carbon: the one to hit the winter trails with (the left one, 3,8x27,5" tires - on the right is a Salsa MukLuk and has 4,8x26" tires, just saying before anyone asks).

Hi all hopefully this is OK to post - its hardly "commercial" after all !
I've extended my cycling hobby to a cycling based Youtube Channel and looking to put it out to people who enjoy cycling who might subscribe and help grow the channel so Im not talking to myself !
Ive been getting a few views each week then struck oil by doing a Video on the Highway Code changes which take place today which has had approaching 1,500 views already in 7 days !
Anyway, take a look if you can, subscribe if you see anything you like and might like in the future and if not - no sweat, It's not an earner for me its just my ego :):):thumb

My £850 Specialized bike is nice but chatted to a guy in Wiltshire on Saturday who had one of these £13,200 Specialized S-Works. What a machine :) !!

Without wishing to be confrontational, can anyone explain why roadies find it acceptable to just ditch their Co2 bottles in the road?

Are they definitely from cyclists? I thought the same as you (I’m a roadie and thought that it was disgusting) but since found out that it’s generally gas bottles from those whipped cream etc canisters that chefs use. People (kids mainly I think) use it as a drug!

CO2 bottles? you mean to inflate wheels after a puncture?

I don't know many that use them, but I've never seen one been thrown away after an emergency repair.

Personally I use tubeless, and you can't use CO2 to inflate tubeless wheels (it dries the sealant). Not that I've ever punctured since switching though.
