Hello all.

We had our first trip away at the weekend in a new 2019 ocean van. We had intended to take 4 bikes on rack and tow our small box trailer. However it appears through ignorance of the potential issue the two are too close together to make tight turns. I've not actually been brave enough to try for fear of damage but I was hoping someone may have had the same issue and come up with a solution?

I've done some research on here and cant find an obvious answer... except we should have brought a Kylie style rack.... but we didn't!

Dr google has come up with hitch extensions but not seemingly available in the uk or obviously working with the hitch/removable tow bar set up we have.

The trailer is a Conway 550 with an A frame attachment.

Please HELP!

James

An extension to the A frame would seem the obvious answer.

Find someone who can cut the frame and weld in a extension piece.

Alternatively, cut the frame and bolt in an extension piece.

Or buy this....

Or buy this....

Thanks for that.... unfortunately they're not for road use, just to launch the boat.

I just need to know someone who can weld!

Replacing the A Frame with a longer one seems to be the only safe solution.
You could make your own or find a local Engineering Business (Blacksmith) who would do it but not cheap.
Top design would be best.
