Been told this is due in my slightly over 3 year old 6.1 Cali. Do I need to go to VW franchised dealership? We have bought the All In plan.

Brake fluid is hygroscopic, it absorbs moisture / water in brake fluid may boil with heat generated during braking and make your brakes spongy or fail. Dealer will use the approved fluid mark your service record accordingly if done there. IIRC Brake Fluid change is not expensive, especially when compared with the cost of an RTC, but is not included in the All -In Service / Warranty spec. Bite the bu££et. Try & cheek the dealer for a discount as you have the All In Plan. Get it done.

We did our Tiguan after 4 years. We got it done at VW because, for giggles, they were actually the cheapest. I'd get it done there - just maintains warranty in case they can claim for whatever reason any fluid change caused an issue, especially with brakes if there is a warrant concern. We'll get the Cali done next time it goes in.

My local dealer told me that my 3 year old Coast needed the brake fluid change but when questioned about it they told me that I would get a receipt for the work done but it did not go on my service record. Because of this I got the work done elsewhere for half the price .

Just bought a digital tester and waiting for my Sealey pressure bleed to arrive. I think mine needs doing but I will measure the moisture content first.

Have to pop the rear coils out, to change the cups so might as well do it at the same time.
