Brandrup carpet sticking to the floor

I though I would clean my Brandrup carpets.

When I removed the rear one, I had to peal it off the wood effect floor and aluminium rail in places. It pulled a thin layer of backing off the carpet. The black on the floor was easily removed by hand. It's the same with the main carpet.

Is this normal or should I be treating the backing with something to stop it sticking. The only thing I can think of is Autoglym vinyl and rubber care.

Anybody have this or a solution?

That just leaves looks like a very poor quality backing to the carpet and not fit for its intended purpose. I’d be inclined to contact Brandrup.

I’d also be hesitant using the AG Rubber and Vinyl Care spray. It makes things very slippery. It’s good for the seals and others uses, but not mats.

Looks like it could do with baby powder to reduce the stickiness.

Unless something has been spilled on to the carpet, or it’s really old, I just think it isn’t correct. Brandrup will know the surface it’s being used for, and it shouldn’t stick.

As @Hawthorn37 says, I'd be contacting Brandrup. At the price they are, that shouldn't be happening.
