I don't know if this is a commen breakage , or if it has been posted before..
I 'm no lightweight at 100kg and 1.85m height , but I recon that there a lot more people
here that are to small for their weight....lol
Any way I broke a hinge a few years ago , and I glued a alu bushing in it for extra strenght
but It broke later just behind the bushing , offcourse in the middle of a holiday trip....
So no more sh....ing around with half baked solutions and oem parts that whill brake again after a few times.
I decided to make them myself in billet aluminium , using my lathé and mill...
here are the pics

here is the broken plastic hinge

used countersunk M6 stainless bolt and grinded excess nut to fit in plastick armrest

Used special 2 component metal glue to fix the hinges into the frame tubes
and then tap with rubber mullet until the shoulders of the new billet hinges touches the frame tubes

glue the parts and tap in with rubber mullet

all 4 of mine broke there too. its a common failure point. i used 22mm copper pipe to fix mine. no lathe at my house unfortunately. i believe someone makes repair kits similar to what you've done there. top work

One of mine has just broken and this was top hit on Google searching for a fix.

I found these

Reasonable price, but they want 50euro for postage to UK.

Anyone know of a UK source for these?
