I will be visiting for a couple of nights from Sunday. I know a lot of people use this site as a convenient stop off for the Newhaven Ferry but my Mother in law has recently moved down here so it will provide some nice me time whilst we visit over half term.

From what I see the site certainly draws mixed reviews - I will let you know how I get on. So far so good, pleasant conversation to book a couple of days ago. No need to pay in advance and £25 per night inc ehu which seems ok.

What could possibly go wrong?

Well it’s certainly not Highlands End but it is a lovely site.

Location is great l am pitched literally next to sea wall with easy access to the esplanade. The sailing club is next door and serves decent food with a bar.

If you turn right there is a massive area to walk the dog called Tide Mills which reminds me of Shingle street in Suffolk.

The facilities are a bit tired but very clean and the showers are piping hot. They do seem to be updating with a massive area of block paving being laid at the entrance. I imagine this will remain a work in progress overall though.

I do recommend, but you need to be aware of what you are should expect. The other campers here are very friendly, but I find that generally.
