Yes I understand your frustration, I think you need to have your finger on the trigger and be ready to go and see anything the minute it comes up for sale. Unfortunately as I found during my search last year, this board, auto trader, VW and lots of other sites just don't keep up with what is sold and what isn't. Keep the faith, it's worth it in the end! You may want to speak to a few dealers (Liverpool in particular), they are constantly ordering stock and you may be able to hijack a stock order with just a few months wait, you don't get the spec you would like but there is after market solutions to some of the spec. Good luck!

Edit consider a Coast or Beach, they are all great vans.

Don’t overlook ebay, I nearly did but my son turned ours up and it was a fair deal from great first owners of a then 4 year old T5.1

I've been trying to contact one seller and the phone is always turned off with no answerphone or text possible and no response to e-mails. It's been advertised now for some 5 weeks or more and doesn't say where it is! Do they want to sell or not??

It will be sold I suspect. Mine sold within 30 mins of listing just so you know how things are going. Yes I updated it and then deleted once collected. I agree some sellers dont give a ... but not all of us.

OMG - that's b****y quick!

Yep and the second potential buyer 20 mins after that. First one took it.

Hot cakes and all that........... I need to be v quick then

I notice in your footer that you brag about using a friend's blue badge in order to get a seafront parking space in Lyme Regis.

You make it sound like it's a roguish, daring and exciting thing to do. But its not. It's selfish and uncaring. Shame on you.

either that or I was simply taking my friend and her blue badge for a nice seafront trip - but thanks for the shaming! arse!

I apologise unreservedly. But perhaps you should rephrase your footer. There is no way that I could have been expected to understand that you were travelling with the friend you mention from what you've written. It clearly reads like a "i got away with it' boast, surely you can see that?

For someone like me, who has a disabled loved-one, people boasting about getting away in away with parking in blue badge spaces is something I've encountered horribly often. It's deeply upsetting, and to be fair, it does look from what you wrote that this is exactly what you are doing.

I will change my footer to assist you!

Thank you, on behalf of not just me, but everyone who is personally affected by this issue.

I guess you think I'm being a snowflake, but i do think it matters.

you're very welcome, btw just like to highlight that your assumption ruled me out as someone personally affected by this

What has any of this got to do with the high price of second hand VW California’s?
Insulting each other is not good on a VW camper forum.

Did I? I just reread my responses, and I don't see where I did this. Clearly, you have stated that your friend has a blue badge, and so I realise you are touched by the issues surrounding blue badges. I didn't mean to suggest otherwise.

I'm sorry to derail the thread. I was upset by a member of the forum stating that they got advantageous parking by making use of a friend's blue badge, and I accused them of shameful behaviour. Maybe you can understand why it didn't feel right to me to simply lignoring the sentence that troubled me?

When the poster clarified that they were with the owner of the blue badge, I apologised unreservedly, and requested that they might please rephrase their footer - because it's a really upsetting issue for some people, including me. It really matters, trust me.

They have kindly offered to do so. I thanked them. I regret that the other party called me an "arse" but I can also understand why they felt upset. I accused them of something shameful they were not guilty of . I was too quick to judge without all the facts.

Anyone, for me, the matter is now closed. Now back to the price of second hand californias :)

Did I read somewhere on this forum that VW are now preventing dealers from ordering stock models because queues are so long? I think I did...

I was contacted last week by my VW dealer offering ‘the best price’ for our van to boost their approved stock. Crazy times! Feel sorry for folks trying to buy one.

I think it’s a small window of opportunity to sell. A chap who does high end conversions looked at my early T5 Beach last week, couldn’t quite believe the figure he put on it. Once planes start flying, reality will set in. Some folks who find they really don’t get on with camping could potentially be looking at a hefty loss to sell once the tables turn.
