Same thing just happened to both of my chairs on the same day. I'm going to take some measurements and design a part to get 3d printed unless the guys at Bel Sol can supply the spares.

In my design I'll make the plugs that go into the leg full thickness rather than hollow as this seems to be the weak point. I'll probably glue them in too to go for the full belt n braces approach.

I'll share the designs when done.

I bought a set of 4 of these from a chap, only used 1 so far, I found him on here I think, German chap

They look great, what was the price?

I just ordered 8pcs at ~£9 each from i.materialise.com in SLS Polyamide. I've had tools made out of this in the past which have been plenty strong, so I'm confident they'll hold. 1600416207819.png
I expect to get them in about 10 days, so will assemble them and test the strength! I hope that once glued and screwed in place that they'll outlast the originals. Happy to provide the 3D to anyone that needs them.

FYI, parts have arrived and been fitted. I made them full round with ridges to aid in the bonding to the tube. I also made them completely filled in to add a bit of strength. If you printed these on an extrusion printer, you could probably play with the wall thickness to lighten them up a bit.

I removed all the old plugs, including ones which didn't appear broken. However, it looks like most of them had split on installation with the force of the expanding rivet body.

..and here's one glued in place with high strength epoxy. The side hole is not tapped, but the screw was used to keep the alignment and add some resistance to pull-out.

Only time well tell how they hold up compared to the originals, but I have high hopes. 3D files are here if anyone needs them:
GrabCad

Hi there,
if you still have the 3D file, could you possibly send it to me ?
I’ve just broke one of my chairs
Cheers Richy

I can do, but does the Grabcad link in my post not work for you?

I've probably only had the chairs out 10-15 times since I fixed them, but so far the new plugs are holding well.

FYI, replacing the pins that attach these to the arms is the hardest part as they are riveted. I think I cut the end off the rivet, then drilled and tapped it and found a machine crew with an adequately small head. There's not much space between the metal of the arm and the plastic cover.

I tried to download it earlier, but I couldn’t open it.
Yes, I’ve had to rivet my bike rack after getting it powder coated.
If I can get the 3D printed ones I’ll try them.
I’m also going to try VW as our warranty on the van has only just expired 2-3 days ago.
Cheers Richy

Let me know what file type you need and I'll see what I can do.
