California = 2nd Lowest Depreciating Vehicle

So according to that article, a 55k Ocean is worth 33.5k after 3 years?

Not sure thats correct!

No of coarse it’s not correct..Most of the motor magazines and tabloid motor columns have no idea because they go on what “Glasses guide” or other guides say..They never look at the bigger picture or even use common sense..They only have to look for themselves at second hand advertised prices in any mag or eBay or even on here buts that’s too difficult..We on this forum know more about VW Californias than all of them put together..When the mags test a vehicle to them the main selling point is the 0-60 time and top speed..Has anyone told them it’s a camper van?

By my reckoning ours has depreciated £6-7k in 11 years. We were lucky to get an 18 month old one though. Losing 17% in 11 years.

Speaking as the owner of a 5 cylinder California, I can’t imagine spending £65k on a 4 pot either

At the moment the VW California IS probably the least depreciating vehicle on the road. VW know that so that’s why you can’t normally go to a VW dealer and buy one without ordering it..Normally the people that can afford them are let’s say in the prime of their life, retired with no mortgage and kids flown the nest. I’m not saying that £65k is not an insignificant sum but many people use their pension pot to buy one..I remember only a few years ago when you could go into the VW showroom and buy one then and there. Maybe that will change in the future but I can’t see it happening anytime soon..Many years ago the Morgan sports car had a 3 year waiting list and a massive premium if you wanted one sooner..Could that happen with the California?
