Some 15 years ago we drove around the towns and villages of Andalucia (staying in Paradors mostly). We were particularly interested in the Moorish influences over the years (at least, the buildings they left behind).
We'd quite like to do something similar again but with our California - probably next year.
Campsites seem to be quite thin on the ground in this area, though. Especially in the vicinity of the towns.
I'd be very keen to hear of anyone's experiences of sites in this area.
We'd plan to be there for about a month.
