Excellent. Swiftune are top notch. I bought Glynns personal Metro Turbo many years ago and still have motor stashed in the garage.. Possibly go into my Innocenti hatchback when I get round to it. Didnt know Glynn had died until talking to his son at the Pau Classic a couple of years ago.
As long as you keep the B you'll never get round to the Innocenti mini!

1981. 1975 Yamaha FS1-E (yes I know its not a car but I was sixteen)

1982. 1974 Morris Marina Estate 1.8 Super (parents old car)

1983. 1979 Skoda Estelle (crashed a lot)

1986. 1984 Skoda Estelle, this time with a 12.74 race engine and uprated lowered suspension. (gave the rep mobiles a run for their money)

1987, 2 became one, far too young to be married

1995. Birth of our daughter, my toys and time slowly disappear and unlike Borris we knew exactly what had caused this situation and I self dispatched to the vets.

1996. 2 x 1970 13/60 Triumph Heralds Convertibles for restoration.

1996. 1996 Ford Fiesta 1.8d

2002. 1999 Daewoo Lanos. Needed a cheap car bought at auction for £500.

2003. 2003 Ford Fiesta 1.3l
2003. 2000 Peugeot 306 1.8cc.

2005. 2005 Ford Focus 1.8 tdi
2005. 2001 Peugeot 307 2ltr HDI

2012. 2009 207 1.6HDI (lovely car loaded with all extras including heated leather & Panoramic sun roof. think it might have been a Christmas present originally as it was registered on 24.12.2009.)

2015. 2015 Audi A3 1.8d convertible.

2016. 2016 VW LWB T6 van converted into campervan. (Toured Europe and UK, sold after a year)

2018. 2014 Citroen DS3 1.6 d to replace 207 after 180k. (both cars used for work and have great fuel economy)

2019. 2019 VW California Ocean.

My head hurts now. We still have the Herald Pickup and the 306 as well as the Audi, Citroen and Cali.
 
First car. Renamed all agro after a few months of owning .
Sometime in the '70s I had a work colleague with an Allegro. Apparently, wheels were prone to falling off (rear wheels I think?) and there was a recall. He took his for a check, no problem. As he was driving it home, a wheel fell off.

Let's hear it for the humble Triumph Herald :thumb. I think it had the tightest turning circle of any car in it's day.

One of our's, a mint example, kept getting a dirty engine compartment caused by the ill fitting rubber seals on the integral inner under bonnet wings. I replaced them with sections of discarded rubber skirt from the huge SRN 4 car carrying hover crafts that were based at Dover at the time. Problem solved.

Yes the rubber wheel arch seals are a pain but more than made up for by the access to the engine and suspension when the bonnet is open.
Re the turning circle Borris I remember being on a small role on role off ferry once which had a problem with the bow doors and all vehicles had to turn round. The crew applauded as I did a U turn.
 
Well done Triple Bee for resurrecting this thread. What a pit full of petrol headed campers this club has, and such an eclectic mix of car ownership, with the common thread being a California.

This list has taken some time to compile and is somewhat longer than I expected as I tend to keep a car if I like it and it is not giving problems. One thing I've noticed, my wife likes Polos!

And for petrolhead, the only petrol was the Golf MkII. Just the plain 1,6 with 75hp :rolleyes: .
Was doing 140km/h in 3rd gear, not even touching the red line.
Only managed 60 km/h in 3rd gear on a steep hill, like this one:

But if I see some litst here, I should need some more lifes to collect as much as you guys did.

Had been a lease car, fitted with a brand new engine just before the lease time was up. Bought for a good price from a quality car dealer who couldn't resist a bargain at auction and was prepared to flip it in a day for the sake of £200. Sadly it was written off before its time by a bus that just kept on coming when it should have given way at a T junction.
 
Three of mine from the late 70’s; Triumph Spitfire (put a hardtop on it to carry skis), Matra Simca Bagheera and a BMW 1802 Touring.

Matra Simca, they were rare when they were new.

Oh no, that went a couple of years ago. Lovely car, carbon buckets etc. Swapped it for a GTS981 which I sold a few weeks ago, just wasn’t using it. Bought a KTM SMCR which is magnificent. Deffo recommend a Cayman R. Zero comfort but great fun.
 
Got to hand it to you guys. If I wanted a fast car with a bit of poke I would go with an SVR Range Rover. Even that would be a compromise as the boot is a little small for two dogs. (Yep I've looked)

I looked at the Husky 701 SM but was disappointed when I could sit on the bike and put both feet flat on the floor. (And I have short legs relatively speaking).

You could easily alter the seat height.
Go and ride one. I guarantee you won’t be able to stop laughing inside your helmet.
I’ve never owned a bike that handles so well and gives you confidence. I’ve done 300 miles in cold weather and I’ve already scrubbed the tyres all the way to the edge! Never managed that before on the road. It’s blindingly quick too. Hopeless above 60mph due to riding position but around the lanes it’s awesome.

The only notable car I owned was a 1958 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud - owned for exactly one day. I bought it, got it transported to Tilbury and put on a ferry to northern Sweden for the uncle-in-law, or some distant relation to restore. Stunning job he has done of it too

Picked a 2011 S in 2014, which only had 5k one owner.
However, I’ve needed a more practical car since the little one turned up 4 years ago...
Still haven’t had the heart to get rid of it. 2 seats, 3 people, it’s not ideal...:headbang
 
This doesn't count as a car I owned, but I travelled in it quite a lot when at university. One of the lecturers, a Scotsman, christian name Willie, owned a 1934 Rolls-Royce that he had found being used as a tow truck. It was pillar box red and had been fitted with a Perkins diesel engine. Rolls Royce didn't want to know when he contacted them. Whenever we went on field trips, a select few would travel with him, waving regally from the rear seat. On one occasion when stopping for fuel, the attendant (remember those days?) refused to fill it up with diesel, asking if he was on Candid Camera. Willie was incensed. "Look here laddie, I'm a member of the Perkins diesel drivers club" proffering the four ring badge in his lapel as proof. It certainly was a head turner.
Willie emigrated to New Zealand and the Roller went with him and is still going strong to this day as far as I know.
 
Having lost a small fortune on cars I've sort of gone with the head rather than the heart over the last 10 years. For a 20 year period between 1995 and 2015 = 155k in depreciation. One car cost 33.5k in 3.5years. Whilst my Defender over the same time period only lost £400

Hence I'm more of a tight bugger now.
