Clutch noise

I have a California SE 180 with 3000 miles on the clock.
Since new I have noticed a drumming/vibration sound when I depress the cluch especially going through low gears. VW have checked it twice and can find no fault. Fiitst they put it down to "they all have that noise" On the most recent visit they put it down to turbo lag.
Anyone experienced this phenomenon? Doesnt sound right to me and seems to come from right hand front side of the vehicle.

I have the same and was wondering about it too. Any ideas?

Both our 180s have done that. We also got "all the 180s do it". My concern was that it was something to so with the the dual mass flywheel but it seems not. Having now driven a few 180s it does seem that they do all do it.

Thanks. It might just be a characteristic of the 180 then! Sounds strange. Second time they looked at it they thought it was turbo flutter whatever that is?
