We took our 2016 T6 California Ocean to our local Van Centre yesterday for a major service. Unfortunately, since the visit, the control unit (in the cab roof) and all rear internal lighting including the tailgate have stopped working except when the engine is running! The control unit has to be programmed when you start the engine – it then goes dead/resets every time the engine is switched off. The rear internal lighting and tailgate lighting now only work when the engine is running! Anyone else had this issue? Im waiting for the Van Centre to respond.

Maybe the leisure batteries are disconnected. There would only be a power supply from the alternator which is when the engine is running.

Dont know what's involved in a major service that requires them to disconnect batteries. Assume the fridge and heater are dead without the panel too. There are 2 leisure batteries to check. But they must have disconnected both of them as they are in parallel. More likely they have blown a fuse somewhere. Theres 3 fuses I think for the control panel alone. Dealer monkeys strike again. When your warranty is ,up go somewhere else.

If you plug into the Mains Hookup, does everything work?
If so check the large Brown 80amp fuse under the passenger seat. To the R of the main block of fuses. Swivel passenger seat 90o and slide towards kitchen for access.

We’ve had a play with the van and the internal lights and control unit also work perfectly when the van is hooked up to main electric. We’re currently leaving the van on the mains hook-up to check whether the leisure batteries are storing/holding their charge.

We’ll see how this goes for a few days and also check the brown 80amp fuse. Failing that, I guess there is a chance the leisure batteries have drained as the van has not been used as much as usual due to the COVID restrictions. Thanks for your help!
