Been having trouble with tyre walls failing on continentals when I first bought the van felt like 4 flat tyres increased pressures to around 49lb and I felt the 103v load rating as no where near enough so fitted 4 crossclimate 235/60/17 106v I'm very impressed so for anyone considering tyres make the load rating 106v world of diffrence

Just wondering why you went for the 235/60r17. There are lots on here that fit that size, especially the swamper type wheels. I was going to fit 235/55r17 to my Davenports this year as I wasn't sure about insurance for non standard tyres.

The speedo reading will be affected using that tyre size. 30 mph on the Speedo will be a road speed of 31.02 mph, 70 mph equates to 72.38. Some vehicles can have the speedo recalibrated for different tyre sizes, don’t know if the Cali can.

The swamper de facto standard is 235/65 17, so bigger again.

Probably be about perfect, my van does around 68mph at 70mph on the speedo.

Just had a look around the forum for tyres/ insurance.

Can't find much, apart from welshgas saying, contact your insurance as they are non standard.

So, all you swamper drivers, what did the insurance say?

If I go with an aspect ratio of 60 or 65, I will need a spare of the same size. Will a 235/60r27 or 235/65r17 fit in the carrier?

#g0cew, do you have a 235/60r17 spare? Does it fit under the van?
