So is that basically 2 x oil services and a pollen filter and scope to charge you bonkers money for anything else? And an MOT to find that something else minor needed doing! For £576. Is that a good deal??View attachment 116791
My service plan has ended. I’m not convinced this is a good deal. Will ask my local independent VW specialist for prices, but wondered what you think?
You may find that the £25 is for the excess waiver. It seems some dealers will have a high excess of about £800 and some will include the waiver down to £50 excess for free. For my last service at Citygate High Wycombe I paid £25 to reduce the excess, although it was voluntary.+ my dealer charges £25 insurance for a hire car (mandatory).

It’s always good to check.
Thanks! I will look out for that when the service is due next summer. I have to say I’ve always found Citygate pretty good to deal with, although when I looked to buy an Ocean last year they would not offer any kind of discount.. but for warranty and servicing work I’ve been happy though.Hi Kayleigh,
believe me I checked .
No it’s NOT for Insurance waiver
there is Now no option of excess waiver ,
I posted about this elsewhere ,
it’s a revised charge to make it Mandatory for CityGate to charge the customer £25 per vehicle Regardless.
Your next trip to CityGate Wooburn green will be £25 more expensive than they quoted you If you need a vehicle (Even if you book the service before the £25 mandatory charge was introduced!)
City gate have now lost £1400 revenue from me in the last year, because of A) cost increases and refusal to price match others (loss 1k)
B) imposing a mandatory £25 for a prior booking a gearbox service (needing a vehicle) loss £400
I think you may find that CityGate Management style hardening at the cost of the customer
I have to say I think the staff have been great over 5years , management keep squeezing the profit margin at huge expense of customersThanks! I took out an All-in plan recently. Also, if you don't use the services during the lifetime of the service plan, you lose them.
So there is a risk you could pay £576...for nothing.
Many Cali's have low milage, so you could end up not needing them, or using the services when you don't actually need them, just to use them up.
