Hi,

I have a VW California T5 from 2006 and I'm having some issues with my control panel.
The display had some vertical blank lines through the screen but it I was still able to read all the information.
However, a few weeks ago, 50% of the screen went blank. I've send a lot of companies pictures of my problem, but all of them say that this cannot be repaired.

So, I found a spare panel with the the same numbers (7E7 906 453 C), but I'm worried it doesn't fit.

My 'back' button, the button on the right bottom of the control unit, has a different logo/image:

The new panel has an arrow:

Is it safe for me to buy this panel as long as the numbers match? Or do I have to check some other things?
And if all is OK, can I just order the panel and plug it in? Or do I still have to go to a dealer?

Thanks in advance!

There is a great guy who can repair the displays on the control panels. I have used him 3 times now for both the van control panel and my motorbike speedo. I am sure he will be able to fix it for you. He also does a club discount, and is a member on this site. @ElectronicEquipmentRepair Here is his website, id highly recommend him.

I've send them an e-mail and got the following response:
Thanks for your message. Unfortunately this unit looks like it has damaged display drivers and these cannot be repaired. Your best option is a whole replacement unit, currently we do not have any stock of refurbished units
Seems this is a specific issue that cannot be repaired. :(

That panel should plug straight in without issues
Thanks for the reply!
