Our T6 Cali Ocean 204 4motion seems to pull slightly to the left . I mentioned it to the garage who have done a laser 4 wheel alignment but it still seems t pull to the left. Does anyone else's van do this or do I need them to check it again.?

Thanks

Chris

In Europe it will pull to the Right, slightly, especially on non-motorway roads that tend to have a more pronounced camber.

Not sure if its just because its a van it seems more noticeably compared to a car

Does it brake in a straight line if you're running right down the middle of the road (and hence don't have much camber either way?)

I have in the past heard of one California that needed a subframe realignment (which isn't as scary as it sounds apparently) but it was just the one...

il try the centre of the road tomorrow and the braking aswell for pull.

Can also be more pronounced depending on Tyre pressures. Either lower but matched or different L to R.

Our new T6 pulls slightly to the left too (on neutral camber). Enough that the steering wheel is noticeably down on the right. The dealer paid for an alignment check but it came back showing spot on, as too where the tyre pressures. Agreed to wait a couple of weeks to see if it settles. It hasn't.

Mine was pulling slightly to the left from new (2 weeks old). Initially had tracking checked and after adjustment at least drove straighter but steering wheel was wonky. Subsequently had a proper 4 wheel alignment check done by a specialist and near side rear wheel was out of alignment. They trued it all up and now all good - surprised it was misaligned from new though.

Mine pulls very slightly to the left as well. I don't think it is road camber as it was the same over on the continents last week. Based on the above I'll check it out on neutral camber and maybe ask the dealer r an alignment check. @Jonke - where did you get your specialist alignment done? Did VW pay for it?

No - couldn't be bothered with all the hassle of booking it in with be and arguing the case. I took it to ats in Bracknell. They have the latest laser aligned hunter equipment. They put it on a ramp and within 10 mins they can provide the toe/camber/caster for all 4 wheels. 66 quid all in so not a great expense. You can find other garages that use the same equipment here - http://www.alignmycar.co.uk

Funny, didn't seem to be a problem on the T5, very few if any posts. Could it be something to do with the weight distribution over the front wheels on the T6?

We've had our T6 for just over a week now and apart from squeaky brakes (I'm assured they will bed in with time)
I've noticed issue as mentioned previously, the steering wheel sits noticeably down on the right hand side when driving long straight motor ways.

I've asked VW to have a look at it, but the engineer mentioned that they DONT have a 4 wheel alignment bay !!!.
So I'm wondering what they are going to do....

Anyone share this issue ?

I have a 204 DSG 4 Motion Ocean and sit in an arm chair driving the 5-7 hours it take some to get part way to any meets... no pull left or right...

Hi there I also have a 204 dsg 4 motion ocean and it is pulling as I think hard to the left .has been back to dealer in Nass co Kildare Southern Ireland and has been tracked .still there so has been back last week for same and steering angle reset and it is still there .so now it is going to another dealer to which has a special machine like a roling road and tells you what wheel goes where and will also tell if tyres are to be changed for new ones all round .to accept a problem like this is not something I can accept and yes my dealer is covering all of this .they changed rhs front to Lhs front and problem got worse . Print out from 4 Wheelalighment said it was prefect .don't accept it and let them know nicely it needs to be fixed .also by the way we love our machine hope this is of some help Mk

Hi All, we test drove ours on Friday last week and noticed the exact same issue. Ours is a 204 DSG but not the 4motion. I made the comment to the dealer who said they will look at it prior to us picking this up on Monday next week......... reading this now though i can see me driving round the block a few times before i do anything else!!:Nailbiting

Hi i have this issue did you get it sorted I have to steer to the right to travel in a straight line and if I let go of the wheel it pulls quite quickly to the left

My T6 also has off centre stearing wheel, slightly down to the right. 4 wheel laser check done and no different. I can live with it but also if I adjust the stearing wheel slightly lower and more towards me it is not so noticeable.

Possibly because there is a lot more weight on the left. Kitchen, fuel/water tanks etc.

Very possible, especially if NOT travelling with 2 passengers in the back, who would be sitting Centre and Right. However, if that is the case then why do we not have more posts relating to this.:thumb

Just to add that mine is a Beach so no weight of kitchen

How does it steer on Continental Roads? Is it just possible the vehicle is very " Camber " sensitive.
