Steering Pulls to the Left

Since new my Cali (T5 180 4motion) has always pulled a bit to the left. At its service a few weeks ago I reported this and was advised that there was a general notice out from VW (can't remember what it was officially called) stating that this was normal on a Cali i.e. it had a camber bias. I asked for the wheel alignment to be done - which I paid for - and whilst the steering was much better there was still a pull to the left.

Anyone else have this issue? Is there a VW notice re pulling to the left? Should it exist and can it be fixed?

Many thanks.

My 12 plate Beach doesn't pull to the left so it doesn't sound right to me.

What wheels and tyres are you running? The wider and lower the profile, the more you'll feel any camber.

Our Cali has pulled to the left since we purchased it new. We had the steering geometry checked by a Porsche specialist recommended to us by another owner. Everything was in spec and they said it was a due to road camber which they demonstrated by driving on the rhs of a road. I agree with this as when on the continent it pulls to right! I have tried a different make of tyres when due for replacement but still no real improvement.

My cali does not pull to left except on roads with a great camber. Have had tracking recently checked.
With the amount of road damage & pot holes it is probably worth checking tracking every year or so.

My 180 4 Motion has always pulled to the left only notice it in Uk. Just had rh ball joint replaced and alignment adjusted under warranty and it is now unnoticeable. Had been getting progressively worse.

I had the same problems with my recently purchased 18 month old Cali 180 . Went to the dealer and VW did alignment under warranty. This didn't solve the problem after which they did a thorough check to see whether there had been any previous (collission) damage.

The technicians were really at a loss when they could not find the cause of the problem. Just when they wanted to change the entire steering hosue/coloms (??) an insurance expert walked in and advised them to adjust the back suspension which did solve the problem.

I hope this can be of any help and hope my english wording is good enough (from a dutch man enjoying the forum).

Cheers,
Robert

I was told you cannot adjust the rear suspension, perhaps Alex can advise if this is possible.

The rear suspension has very very limited adjustment in it.
