Drying out awning

Presumably it's a bad idea to wind the awning in when wet and just leave it like that for a while?

I always wind it back out when home and let it dry but maybe this is unnecessary.

What do others do?

I live in a narrow Victorian street so there is no off road area to dry it out. I think, even though most of the internal parts appear to be plastic, that it is probably not a good idea to leave a wet awning rolled up till your next trip.
I got back from Brean on Sunday afternoon and I had to wind the awning in whilst it was still wet. I parked outside the house and wound the awning out over the pavement making sure it was high enough for people to get underneath. Putting the legs into the front garden I managed to roll the whole awning out. Don't forget to tie or weight the awning down so that it doesn't fly up when the wind blows.
Mine was dry in ½ an hour yesterday.

It can get mildewy if you leave it rolled up wet (like the indoor blinds) so definitely best to dry it before too long.

Make sure there is no leaves or debris on the roof before winding in
as leaves can stain the awning and the marks are hard to shift
Obviously from personal experience

Thanks everyone. I shall continue doing as I am!
