Hi ,

Anyone seen these or even better tried one ? They are meant to be fitted in Facelift 5.1 models.

Does anyone know if the electronics in them are compatible with earlier T5's ( 2007) ?

Does anyone now if they will fit the dash appature in a 2007 T5 ?

They look like Chinese knock offs but there again thats where most of the well known brands are made nowadays anyway !!

Any help appreciated.

Looks like an mini media pc in your car
Price seems very low.....

My thoughts exactly.....but is it any good ?
If anyone has bought and fitted one perhaps they would be good enough to give a review.

Thanks

I suspect it will be one of China's fabled fakes - i.e. a copied item sold at a much cheaper price.

I have seen these type of devices before as RNS510 replica's. Not great quality but loads of functionality if somewhat 'clunky' menu's etc.

There is a Kenwood system that should fit the pre-facelift T5's that would suit your needs.

cheers

One of my suppliers in China sells exactly the same models as these, the trade price is $180 USD ( around £125 ) I would not think the quality would be up to much at all at that price, also I imagine the warranty will be very poor. I personally would pay a bit extra for something branded.

Dimensions on the first link of the faceplate are bigger than the aperture in the dash on my cali, so probably not fit. Second one face plate appears to be rectangular, aperture in cali has rounded off corners, so again will not fit.

If it sounds too cheap there is usually a good reason especially on fleabay !!

Dodgy that. It may work, but def looks like a Chinese replica of the Kenwood DNX521 http://www.kenwood.eu/products/car/navigation/navigation/DNX521DAB/

Cheap, but I'm not sure I'd want to part with almost £400 for something so risky? Nothing is branded and that buyers page screams cheapness!

Alternatives for same money are the VW RCD510 (no SatNav) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DAB-Volks...7?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item27ccc40bed

or there's a pioneer AppRadio SPH-DA100 which leverages the Android or iPhone functions and displays them on a 7" double DIN which costs less & is a better budget buy I you've a droid or iOS device http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Pioneer-A...8?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item337cb4bd86

Yeah that's true Andy, I think I saw an adaptor plate to make it fit better. Still not a flush fitting tho

Just wondering if anyone did fit one of these to a California?

We've had a similar one in our Bongo for a couple of years without any problems and whilst the quality isn't up to the RNS510 I had in the Octavia everything works, digital TV, satnav (Igo), bluetooth etc.

We are getting our California in a week or so (new to us, 2year old 11k miles, 4motion DSG) but it only has the standard radio so I would be up for fitting one of these if a: it will physically fit and b: the canbus adapter supplied with the unit works OK without messing about recoding.

Or, has anyone used these people?

Looks pretty good value compared with factory/dealer prices.

Hello.. I have recently posted a reply about Navi/Tv/Bluetooth/Dvd/Computer/SD-card reader, but it somehow wanished..
I have mounted this in my Cali and in my wifes Audi.. My son have it in his Ford Mondeo..

The navi is super quick and graphic on the new ones are just amazing to say the least..

The items are from china, but it outrank any original item or unit I have ever laid my eyes on..
Used to have Alpine - very expensive - very worthless..
I can only recommend this units from http://www.WITSON.com - they work with canbus and interface of alot of different cars - but especially VW and Ford..
Normally you just write them a mail, specifying what car you have and what you would like the unit to be able to do.. Then the give you a price - and they even send item with a gift invoice for customs.. Nice - Quick and Cheap - I know that We all should be suspicios - Cali owners are not used to that... Have a safe way.. Hope to meet you all out there.. Caligrycho - Denmark

I am just finishing off fitting the double din satnav unit and all is working fine except for the connecting the radio aerial and TMC connections.
On the VW radio these are the inputs for the aerial and TMC, does anyone know which one is which please.

On the new unit the aerial is a normal "old fashioned" socket and the TMC input is a 3mm socket so I need to get/make and adapter for these.

So far very impressed with it, TV works a treat on the diddy aerial supplied, satnav is Igo a bit out of date but that's not a problem, DVD works fine.
