Electric sliding door help and advice T6 ocean 2019 please

Hello
My California Ocean electric side door stopped working .
Was diagnosed as a TPI fault by VW assistance when they came to my house to help get it working .
It is now in a dealer and has had rear right hand side plastic removed as it has water ingress from seal on door motor. This seal on the motor failed I turn letting water pour down wire and hit the control unit , blowing it up !!
Any way I have a vw extended 2 year warranty but I have been told that VW does not cover water ingress or the control unit .
The. Bill now is around £1300 I have to pay !
My van has done 16,000 miles and has never seen a winter or bad day heaven knows how the water got in !! They asked me if I had washed the van with a pressure washer, I have always but surely the seal should have sealed .
Any way any one else had this issue or warranty issue ? 2052864/5.TPI fault code

Mine broke this year on a 2008 van. I eventually took it to a great auto electrician who fixed it for £400. It had got wet and the electrician replaced individual bits from spares he had lying around.

I don't see how that's not under warranty. Can you appeal to VW?
