Remove rear quarter panel to access electric sliding door control unit

Hiya, has anybody had any experience to remove the rear quarter internal panel drivers side to access electric sliding door control unit? Our electric full function AND soft close mech has ceased working. Already wasted £440 at VW Heritage BRISTOL and are still left with an "ajar" side door. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Hi Pyabies, did you ever get this sorted? My door locks but the soft close will not operate to pull the door in. Fuse is good. It worked again briefly and has stopped again.

We accept it as an intermittent issue, perhaps linked to pinch sensor? so it doesn’t grab thinking the door is still open sometimes. It’s not very frequent. Not prepared to pay to investigate anyway. Hope yours is livable or if you find fault/solution can let us know
