Evening all, some advice please. I’ve got a ‘Error: Stop-Start’ message on my 2018 Beach (150HP DSG) and it’s in limp mode. Coil light flashing, engine mgmt light on (yellow).
Last time the van was in the local workshop (last month), they commented the engine battery was on the way out, so I’ve changed that (for ease/laziness got Norauto (Halfords equivalent) to do it), but that’s not resolved the issue.
Having looked at some of the threads here, I’ve bought a Carista OBD2, and a subscription, and scanned the van. This shows an engine fault 15898 - Fuel Temperature Sensor “A” Circuit High. I reset it, but it comes straight back. Nothing about the stop-start error though.

What do you think? Are these two issues even connected? Anything else I could/should try before taking it back to the workshop? (I’m a half-decent bicycle mechanic, but don’t claim any expertise on motors!)

Thanks in advance. As ever, your input will be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like a garage job to me. The stop start error, I would say, is just saying because of the engine issue we are going to disable the stop start. I have found the OBDC port reasonable accurate and would say it has pinpointed the issue (the engine, or part of it, seems to be overheating). So it's either the sensor itself, or whatever the root cause is that is triggering it. Not an amateur job to my eyes.

You maybe able to find the solution on here It looks like its been resolved something to do with broken wire at the connector.
Take a look there are some pictures that may help.
