Hi, wondering if anyone can help. I have a 2014 Cali Beach, I have a faint battery light on my dashboard and sometimes a faint fuel light that come on. I’ve had a replacement cam belt alternator checked all good. The main battery slightly low? Any ideas

Do I need to tighten up the Earth terminal on the battery? I am not that mechanical minded?

It’s just been diagnosed with a faulty dashboard cluster which will cost £700 to repair . Not raven 4 years old and 20,000 mileage. Not impressed.

I think there’s a firm that specialises in repairing these; I saw them on a Wheeler Dealers episode, the one where they do up an Audi TT. It’s on YouTube, have a look for the episode on there otherwise try Google.

Edit: just had a look, loads of hits, try this in Google:

I wonder if you can invoke the sales of goods act and say that such a quick failure rate suggests it is not fit for purpose... Can you expect to replace one every 20k miles?

I did this with V's seat that split, they claimed upholstery was only 6 month warranty. When I asked if they were stating that would should expect to replace the seat every 12 months and 12,000 miles because of poor workmanship, suffice to say they fixed it.

I had got back in touch with VW service manager and asked about a goodwill gesture towards repair. Short story. They agreed and are paying the full cost of the repair. Great result always worth asking.
