Switch on light?!

At the end of last year my battery was dead. Yes, I am a beginner with a new California!The battery is now recharged and all is well except for one extremely annoying thing:
With regularity the dashboard clears and the instruction SWITCH ON LIGHT appears. I switch on an internal light by the mirrows, tap OK on the steering whel, switch off the internal light, and thenormal dash displays reappear. But oh dear - I have to go through that routine again and again!
Can someone with experience advise me as to how I can stop this happening please?

Isn’t that because you have automatic headlights that you have switched off rather than in the auto position. The light sensor says it’s dark enough to need them on .
