Memorable spot for a first trip out. And living in Derby you have the whole of the Peaks on your doorstep you lucky people!

We were up there last weekend, one night at Edale (Newfold Farm campsite - beautiful, and very convenient for the Old Nags Head!), second at Crowdecote and final night a pub stopover at the lovely Black Lion Inn in the hilltop village of Butterton. So much to explore in that part of the world and still surprisingly quiet given how close they are to big population centres. (When we were out walking on the Kinder plateau last weekend a chap from Manchester, probably in his forties, told us he'd only discovered the Peaks in the last couple of years despite living only an hour from them).
