First trip out in the new Beach

So we're braving the wet weather and heading out for our first weekend away in the Beach, or Venom as he's become known (well he is black with black alloys), figuring we're immanently heading into further lockdown so it may be the last chance for some time.

Seems that everything has fitted in easily, although we are picking stuff up on route and have probably forgotten a load of stuff.

Sure it'll take us four or five trips until we get it 'right', but excited about our first California experience!

You have a great time and don't worry if things are a bit disorganised at first. You will be refining your stowage and learning the best ways to do things for a while. They are superb vehicles and are so very versatile.

For obvious reasons we've not used our Beach much this year. So when we spent two nights camping in it last week we were amazed at just how out of practice we had become. You need a routine and it takes a little while to develop one that suits you.

We had a great time, and so glad we did it before the big lockdown again. Only three nights, and I think by the third night we'd just about got a system going that worked and meant that we weren't constantly moving stuff from one place to another.

First night we had the topper and screen cover on (purchased from this very forum) but it was so mild we didn't bother the next two nights. I do think for longer than a weekend we'll be needed an awning with the four of us (2+2 kids), especially if the weather is unkind, but we were fine this time with the pop-up tent to throw the excess stuff into.

What a great vehicle, wish we got one years ago. Just gutted that it's probably the last trip for a while.
