Fresh water tank draining slowly

Hi all, first post here.

I’m a few weeks into owning a 2017 Ocean and loving it

I’d like to check something with you all that I’ve not seen on here.

Essentially, to drain the fresh tank, I’ve been leaving the shower head plugged in and the lever on the head locked open (with the electric switch off) to provide an air path for the tank to help the water drain.

This was working well, but I’ve since had the pump fail, I’m wondering if my shower idea could have contributed to its failure?

What do you reckon, and are there any better for this?

The idea I have seen on here is to take a fuse out and open the tap, but that seems to fiddly for me currently.

Cheers

I’m struggling to find a reason that I’m not an idiot after this reply

I was thinking I already had it open, but logic is telling me I can’t have.

That was my first post as well, still, it can only improve from here!

Hey, we all join this forum to learn about Cali’s, and we’ve all been there !!

And actually, there’s been lots of debate on the forum about whether or not you need to remove the filler cap, as it’s contended the cap has an inbuilt air bleed, and some folks drain the tank nicely without removal. So not so stupid after all!

12v submersible pumps burnout if run dry, opening a tap switches on the pump unless you remove the fuse first
