GC Software Updates

Hi Everyone, just visited my local VW dealership for an MOT . Whilst I was there I asked about the Software updates that I keep seeing on this group ? Side step with a mind of its own and Heater switching off at night. 109 &110 ??
They said that they hadn’t heard of them and that my 21reg GC hadn’t got any outstanding updates.
Are the two updates 109 &110 for the van (Ecu) or are they for the control panel / campervan system ? And if so how do you get them ?

The latest version is 110 and it’s for the control panel. The dealer downloads it onto a special memory card and uploads it into your van. Took my dealer about an hour to do, including downloading it.

I had my update done through Vindis Northampton, although did take a bit of persuasion. I know that others have had the update through different dealers as well. I believe that the TPI reference for the dealer to find the issue update from VW is TPI numbers 2074574/1 & 2074574/2. I did have to insisit with my dealer that I was having the heating 'switching off in the middle of the night issue'. The dealer doesn't like / might be instructed not to just update the software to the latest version, in case it causes other problems. If you give your dealer those TPI codes, they should be able to find the notice update from Volkswagen. Since we had that update, we haven't had any 'heating switching off' issues.

The firmware update for the control panel is not an automatic update under warranty , you have to have the problem… heating randomly switching off overnight with no manual intervention …. but I’m sure you do

Is there a way that you can find out what is your current update is without a trip to the dealer?
