Hi there, my first post on here, but have been reading these forums avidly for lots of tips, an amazing resource.
Our GC600 is currently completely flat, having not been started in a few weeks. Not a single light on the dash, and had to use the key manually to get into it. I have borrowed a Noco Boost XL 12v 1500A jump starter rated for "up to 4.5l diesel" Is this ok to use or too big for the GC? (i'm not sure if the bigger capacity is problematic, or merely more than I need).
The leisure battery was replaced just last month (December 2024). I know the advice is to throw the red isolation switch for the leisure battery, but since getting into the habit of turning off the red switch this is the second time that the starter battery has ended up completely flat. When we didn't turn off the red switch there was never an issue with the starter battery being flat. Are these connected? We have the factory fitted solar panel. We also live in a flat and don't have any facility to plug-in / charge at home. Any tips to stop this happening for a third time? I'm minded to ignore the advice and keep the habitation electrics switched on if this is connected to the solar and sharing something useful with the starter battery?
