I am going to replace the existing regulator and orange flex hose for the propane system on my 2007 VW California.

Attached is an image of the existing regulator and I want to replace it with the identical regulator and hose.

Does anyone have any insight into a good place to obtain the right replacement from? We are based in Shropshire.

Thank you, Ian

Why does the regulator need to be replaced?

Why does the regulator need to be replaced?
Excellent question. It is complicated. The image is from a 2007 Mercedes James Cook that I imported to Canada this year. The regulator in the VW California is identical so I used this image as we live in Canada and cannot get access to the VW in England.

We have owner the VW since 2011 and never changed the regulator or hose. I understand that at 15 years old it is past time to replace.

Make sense?

I didn’t realise that regulators had to be replaced after a period of time to be honest.

This is from the Gok product literature:

"In the German DVGW worksheet G 607 for LPG systems in occupied leisure vehicles and for living purposes in other road vehicles, it is prescribed in the chapter for operation and testing that pressure regulators are to be replaced 10 years after the date of manufacture at the latest. If the working pressure of the system is 30 mbar, pursuant to G 607, a regulator according to EN 16129, annex D (e.g. part no. 01 280 10) is to be used in the event of a replacement. For LPG systems in vehicles with a working pressure of 50 mbar, a non-compliance permit applies. There is no obligation to convert to 30 mbar."

It's not a huge expense.

Thanks for all the great feedback. I am going to replace the regulator and orange hose in our 2007 California. I appreciate the link to Campervanbits as it looks like they have everything.
