For those possibly thinking of putting bikes in the interior of a GC680 here are some size details.

Width between cupboards 700mm
Height to under bed 800mm
Length from back door to seperator 1070mm
Length from back door to front edge of furthest forward cupboard 2meters.

Heres a couple of pics including the lashing rails on both sides.

Are those Brandrup carpets I spy up front Bob?

Yes indeed, just for the middle living section. Great quality and fit, comes in three parts with Velcro joins. As expected expensive but doesnt seem to be any other options around currently.

True. Don’t think I’ve ever vacuumed a carpet more often. Can’t see why you’d want them at the back, as the bed blocks and also you’re more likely to put messy stuff back there.
Took ours out for a run today, having been stationary for nearly 3 weeks. The parking space has 6 inches one side and 4 inches to the drive edge the other and that camera is a great help.

Great pic of the RGB lighting btw, Mrs I only likes the blue.

Whilst your all on, any of you have Road Signage Identification as an option and if so as you are also 3.880kg it shows your legal speed limit ie Like 60mph instead of 70mph on a duel carriageway.

Not us. Seemed like cash for something I’d never use or want.

If I can’t read the sign, I shouldn’t be behind the wheel.

Thought it might be handy when abroad, and think there is a minor variation on some Scottish roads, so not taken for granted. well each to there own.

You have electric windows

I do.. I find those useful but if I want to drive on a road and don’t understand the signs, that’s my problem. Had that issue 20 years ago wi a yield sign an a state trooper. Lesson learned.

Re the back ie, garage, I had a fitted edged rubber mat to stop any damage or sliding around works really well

Without wanting to go off thread, all GC are the lower speed limits not just the 3.880kg ones.
For licensing its 3.5tnne thats the important figure, but for speed limits its the unladen weight that matters. Under 3.050tnne is car limits and according to the brochure even the lightest GC is 3.080tnne so the lower limits apply.

Hi Andy,
Yes I guess this will surprise a lot of owners, great point to raise.

Apart from the 30 zone, basically 10mph lower than usual. The thing for me tough is, if your driving a GC, your probably not in it for its speed, handling and cornering so getting from A to B isn’t the priority but seeing everything in full HD is. Apart from mobile camera’s, which police worry about 5 to 8 miles over?

More off topic Have a look at this on speed limits:

Looks like a speed camera could fine you automatically based on the V5 body type being over 3.05t, however the vehicle speed limit is set by the department for transport legislation 1979 where a GC is clearly a Motorcaravan as it has permanent mobile living accommodation. I’ve taken some notes should I get pulled over for doing 70 on a dual carriageway. Seems quite a messy situation!

Think I’ve confused myself! Still think the 3.05 t applies and restricts the speed limit. Before looking into this I thought there was no issue
doing 70 on a dual carriage way of less than 3.5t

Looks like the weight limit of 3.050t linked to the motorcarvan speed limit is the Unladen weight which does not include the weight of fuel or passengers (not sure if that includes driver). So there is a chance of a GC being under but borderline
