Surreal dream

I was with a group of socialist activists in a nondescript English new town. The area had been staunchly Conservative, but in a shock by-election had just elected a Liberal Democrat MP. I was secretly pleased with this.

The street or perhaps small red brick estate I was in with my socialist friends had plenty of well tended communal green lawn spaces, and groups were out with their BBQs on these spaces as it was the tradition on that particular day of the week.

At the end of the cul-de-sac was a mental hospital specialising in treating patients who identified as dogs. These patients were free to roam the vicinity and were chasing balls, sniffing bums, running on all fours and cocking their legs. Their carers were around but rarely intervening. The people out and about cooking at their BBQs never batted an eyelid, proud at the inclusiveness of their community.
