Hi all

My 2018 T6 Beach constantly has the headlights on. My son is at a festival and needs to turn them off so that he can have the power on inside the van without blinding people in the night.

Also, how does he get the socket go work? The three pin traditional socket for a plug?

The internal 230v Mains socket will ONLY work if the vehicle is plugged into a Mains supply.

Is it the headlights that are on or the DRL's. Is the Ignition OFF and key out?

If they still remain on then time to make use of VW Assistance which is part of your 3 yr Warranty Package.

Hi thanks so much for your speedy response.

The headlights only on when ignition is on.

What are DRLs please?

Also make sure the light switch is set to “off” not “auto” when on campsites otherwise headlights will come on with ignition, if it’s dark.
DRL - daylight running lights

Daytime Running Lights. All new vehicles have them. Automatic - they will come On when Ignition is ON as an indication that the vehicle is " Live " can move or is moving.
Why does he need to put the Ignition On when parked up. The camping lights in the rear work without the ignition On. The radio can work for 20mins, by just pressing the Volume Control, without the Ignition On.

Great! So helpful. Passing this info on.

Thank goodness for this Forum!

Don't leave ignition on when camping, you will flatten the engine battery. Be cautious about using the radio for too long for the same reason.

T6 parking lights come on with the indicator lever up (right) or down (left) even when the key is removed from the ignition.
