Headlight protectors

We are off to our new house in Brittany for Christmas and a couple of nights away in the Cali. I noticed tonight that 1 of the headlight protectors I bought at COTF has split in 2. I probably don't have time to get a new set before I head off on Sundays ferry. Will anything dire happen to the headlights / can I stick the deflector bits to the actual headlights?
