We had to say goodbye to our lovely Amber on the 27th. She had got Cancer in her spine and she very quickly lost the use of her legs. Nothing that could be done for her. We will miss her forever she was a sweet gentle giant.

Hi so sorry for your loss, we lost our Jack due to blood cancer at the end of August just before his 14th birthday and we miss him terribly. He is the one on the left, his cousin Alfie still looks for him.

We know that pain and so hard to deal with. We lost a laddie 4 years ago, only 5 years old, to similar mass on his spine. He was a rescue and had him since he was 18 months old. He went so quickly running around and in three weeks gone.
I think of him every day, such a loss but another rescue came into our lives and filled that void, space in our hearts for another laddie.

Yes It took our Amber really quickly too. Probably 4 months from first noticing something was not right with her. It was very hard to let her go but she just couldn't go on.
There is a good chance we will end up with a rescue dog when the time is right .
Thanks for your kind words.

I'm so sorry for your loss, we lost a wonderful dog to cancer 11 years ago - 8 weeks from diagnosis to him leaving us - so quick :( It's so painful, I'm sorry you're going through this.
We adopted again in time, and a new chapter opened up... I have been fostering for the rescue we adopted from since that day. Finn's death left a legacy of helping lots of other dogs in need, and I like to think the old grump would have approved in some way.
Thank you for thinking of adopting from rescue when the time is right - there are some amazing dogs out there who end up homeless for all sorts of reasons. Over Christmas we've had 3 young dogs in - 2 abandoned by the breeder because they were past thier sell by date at 4 months old (filthy, skinny and flea infested), and one poor pup that had 4 homes in her 5 months of life?! Crazy stuff.
Take time to grieve, and sorry again for your loss.

That is a wonderful thing that you are doing and we will for sure rehome next time. We have had German Shepherds all our married life. This next time we will go for whatever dog needs help the most whatever it is. (the one that is always overlooked)

Our heartfelt condolences on the loss of Amber. We’ve experienced that heartbreak a few times so we empathise with you. When you have a dog you know that one day your heart is going to be ripped to bits, but the love & loyalty a dog gives you is immeasurable.
We are so sorry you have lost your gentle giant.
