Hi
So we are now considering a 2014 2.0 blue motion SE 180, it’s got 61k on clock, heated seats, privacy glass, sat nav etc. What are people’s experiences of this model please. We are planning on purchasing tomorrow. Many thanks

Hi and welcome. That’s quite short notice. Hopefully others will be along soon to offer advice.
In the meantime, is a private sale or via a dealer? If dealer, is there any warranty? If private, Have you had an inspection from someone like the AA?
Have you checked everything works (the downloads section has useful info)... ?
that will give you specific areas to look at (leisure batteries, auxiliary heater, fridge, tap / pump, hydraulic roof, gas connector / pipes, cambelt and pump)...

Hi it’s from a dealer with three month warranty we will make sure we check everything is working and the service history. Many thanks for your help

Good luck and let us know the outcome...

Welcome. Get yourself familiar (quickly) with the 180 engine issue. It may be absolutely fine but you need to be aware and comfortable. Plenty of threads if you search.

A cheap voltmeter to plug into 12V socket behind passenger seat could be handy to check the health of the leisure battery. Good luck with your purchase.

Well I had 2015 SE blue motion SE 180. It was a lovely vehicle as I'm sure your van will be. The things to look for are condition and service history. Check every panel, every function and every detail. Check the tyre and brake wear. Make a note of every fault and defect however small. Once you have completed your survey you will have all the info you'll need to help you decide if it's the van for you. If there are faults don't be afraid to get quotes or at least an estimate before committing yourselves. If you are still interested use your list of issues to negotiate a more appropriate price. Remember these vehicles can be expensive to fix so do your homework before hand.

Check the service record thoroughly and ask about any previous accidents. If it's had any, who repaired it and was the work guaranteed? Has the remedial recall work be done on the roof ? Check the V5 against the vehicle vin number and be on the alert for fraudsters. This is becoming rather common at present. Don't part with a penny unless they can prove they are the registered owners. Get an online HPI check done before you view.

If you do decide it's the van for you, use the Forum SE check list to ensure everything that should be present is there. Finally, it won't be the only Cali for sale so try to buy with your head and not your heart.

Good luck and I hope it all checks out in which case photos are obligatory. :thumb

Thank you and especially about the roof we will check this

If memory serves, the high oil consumption issue was resolved in 2014.
