How are your Monster Mats?

At about 18 months old, our monster mats drivers footrest pad cracked and split at the join. I repaired & strengthened it on the underside by judicious application of a LARGE bicycle tube repair patch and rubber solvent cement. It seems to have worked the repair has lasted over year so far. The mats were already on the van when we bought it as a 6 month old dealer demo with 650 miles, so were probably a little over a year old when I noticed the split. Never thought to complain. Mileage now only 9350.
Would I buy a VW replacement?
Unsure.
Cannon also make very good mats.

65,000 miles and 4.5 years. Looking a little tired, but also look like they will be serviceable for another 65,000 miles and another 4.5 years.

The wear through on the driver's side on the hollow ribs is a common problem, I'm now on my third set just fitted today at 117k and 6 1/2 years of use so just over 3 years per set.

They are great mats apart from the wear issue on the ribs, still worth having them in my opinion.

The latest ones come with round fixings rather than the older oblong ones that I have but the fixings on the mats can be swapped from the old mats by carefully levering them apart with a flat nose screwdriver.

I bought a pair of Monster Mats in the Autumn of 2015 with our first California. I moved them to our present California in 2017 and still have them. I think a short piece of one of the ribs under my right heel has come off, other than that they are as new. We have covered 37,000 miles between the two vehicles over 7 years, so I think we have got our moneys worth.
