Hi! I want to know more about DIY car stereo and buy a new seicane android car radio to install in my 2010 T5. How to install it? Is it difficult? Hope get some help from here!

Any stereo you buy you will need to check there is a surround kit available (the plastic trim around the edge).

Sorry, I've not changed mine but there are quite a lot of threads about some changing radios that may be useful and worth a search around. Some of these include the RCD330, Pioneer and other alternatives

Hi David It’s easy. Just prise up the dashboard tray above the radio, then undo the 2 front torx screws and pull the upper edge of the radio surround towards you. Then undo the 4 torx screws behind and pull the unit out. The trouble is that the loom connector plugs into a socket on the rear of the VW units, whereas aftermarket units (such as the fab Kenwood DNX521DAB) have the socket on the end of a massive loom that has various little black boxes eg for canbus. It’s a pig getting all that back in as the space is tight anyway. I stuck the gps antenna under that tray. The dab antenna sticks on the window and it’s also a pig getting the glovebox out to route the cable but there’s a nack which I’ve forgotten. I don’t know anything about that make but cheap Chinese ones like Erisin usually have a very clunky os and gui. Hope that helps. ps you’re not a draughtsman are you?
