How did the rear seatbelt end up in such a twisted state?

Hey,

See the pictures of our right-hand side rear bench seatbelt on a T6.1 California Ocean. It’s weirdly twisted but I can’t figure out how it got in such a state or how to fix it.

The seatbelt works fine. The twist doesn’t seem to be in the top assembly. The seatbelt rolls and unrolls completely normally with no friction or any sign of twist.

It dowsnt seem to be on the bottom attach point either. If you compare the right-hand side with the left-hand side seatbelts (the left hand-side is not twisted), both have their labels tucked away at the back - indicating that the bottom part is correctly attached.

I really don’t get it. Not a huge deal. It works fine that way. But it would be nice to have it look a bit cleaner.

It’s got twisted on the spool.
Pull it out as far as you can. Then untwist it and feed the untwisted bit back through the top guide. Once that is through allow the belt to retract normally.
Pull it out fully a few times allowing it to self retract and all should be back to normal.

As above. You will also have to make a diagonal fold in the belt the then pull the metal clip back along the fold to get the clip facing the correct way.
Some people are experts at messing up seat belts. They pinch the belt and cause this problem. Drives me mad.

So I’ve done that and… it worked. No idea you could do this. As @Brian S mentioned above, I also had to reverse the metal clip, which was actually the trickiest bit. It took some convincing to flip it around.

But it all looks much better now. Thanks!
