Inside engine bay/bonnet painted??

My 2006 cali is exactly the same, no sign of rust yet. Apart from corrosion on the front roof panel that VW refuse to do anything about.

John sorry to hear about the roof panel-VW should pull their finger out and help you. Thanks for letting me know about your 2006 Cali, your response re-under the bonnet gives me a little more confidence. I hope also that VW have sorted out the roof panel corrosion issues on current models?

Looks like silver to me same as the van.
