I'm getting a very intermittent thud/thump noise which seems to be coming from the driver's front wheel area.

After it happens, I don't hear it again for many miles.

Any ideas what it could be - maybe something to do with suspension spring?

There doesn't seem to be anything loose from a visual perspective.

Thanks.

Could be the known steering issue, I am sure someone will be along shortly to let you know.

The steering knock problem seems to be restricted to low speed manoeuvreing.
Measure height between wheel and wheel arch to rule out suspension setting.

Thanks for the responses. Been away to Coniston for a couple of days, and only heard it a couple of times during the trip - at low speeds on roughish surfaces, but not whilst turning.

I'll take in to the dealer to see if they can shine any light on it.

I had something similar to this.
Managed to replicate it for the VW technician,
We were both sure that the noise was coming from drivers wheel, wheel arch or drivers door.
5 days later I got the van back still with the noise...
I did some further investigating and fitted some small rubber feet into the pullout awning as this was intermittently rattling/knocking on various surfaces.
