iPod connection wire

Hi, we currently have a 14 Plate SE and are trading up next year. Our current van has the iPod connection in the glovebox which supports an iPhone 4 connection/charge. Does anyone know if the new iPod connection on the current model will support an iPhone 5, as we have also upgraded phones and the connections are different, not sure if we need to buy some kind of adaptor or similar.

Got my van September 2014. It was supplied with old style 30pin connector. I got an adapter from Amazon.

Volkswagen certainly make a Lightning MDI connecter that's compatible with the iPhone 5 and 6, so if I was buying now I'd expect to be offered one.

I run my iPhone 5 with the lighting adapter that connects to the glovebox lead on my 13 plate. A rather expensive little accessorie at £25 from Apple but have been told from a reliable source only the genuine article will do
