Is there increasing resistance against EV’s?

I’d say there is yes. I’m my opinion it’s mainly due to bad manners and behaviour by the big white box brigade like totally filling bins leaving rubbish parking where they like etc etc. Same as a lot of things a few can spoil things very quickly.
Not a dig at anyone just my own experience and opinion.
That’s why I’m waiting for Mr. Fusion power :veryfunny

EV's had their place and were largely ignored by petrol heads, as I was, as just another means of getting around.

Then came big government telling everyone they can't have a new ICE after 2030.

The reaction was predictable. Total hostility to being told what to do and what to have.

EV's are brilliant at what they do, and I love mine, but they cannot replace an ICE in so many applications that the blanket piece of "You will do as you are told" can only be seen as a derisory move by politicians prancing on a stage of unreality.

The only way this beautiful planet of ours will be saved is by all pulling together, not politically-induced divisiveness.

I’ve been running an EV (a Polestar) for the last 6 months. It’s a fantastic vehicle and the whole electric driving experience is superior 90% of the time. I enjoy “enthusiastic” driving and I thought I’d miss the theatrics of ICE (I’ve had an eclectic collection of cars, from turbo charged Subarus to screaming Celicas) but weirdly I don’t. My only issue has been public charging on long haul drives. This is literally 3 times in 6 months; the first few occasions there were issues finding a charger of the right speed in the right place, but then most recently I endured a chaotic queue to wait for an available charger (I wasn’t actually waiting long at all, but it’s like waiting for a kettle to boil).

On the whole though I think they’re brilliant.
Yes, the Ora is local only so always home charged, but I've used the Tesla Supercharger network a few times and it's been faultless and billed straight to the card on file each time. The SatNav even factors the charge in to route planning and confirms what charge % you will have on arrival, etc - so really a non-issue for me personally.

I've got an EV but I have only recently learnt of this Amnesty International ranking for EV Car companies and it doesn't read well.....

As an aside, I'm pretty sure their ICE cars supply chains are no better but it did open my eyes.

Amnesty’s scorecard, which is marked out of 90, assesses companies’ performance on criteria including commitment to human rights policies, risk identification process, supply chain mapping and reporting and remediation. None of the companies scored higher than 51 on Amnesty’s human rights due diligence assessment. At the bottom of the list was Chinese company BYD Auto, which scored a dire 11/90. German company Mercedes-Benz scored highest with 51/90.

The car manufacturers scored as follows:

· Mercedes Benz (51)

· Tesla (49)

· Stellantis (42)

· VW Group (41)

· BMW (41)

· Ford (41)

· General Motors (32)

· Renault (27)

· Nissan (22)

· Geely Auto (22)

· Hyundai (21)

· Mitsubishi (13)

· BYD Auto (11)

This is another interesting report:

Also I just completed a year with the car (i3s) and did 6500miles at a total cost of £165...

I spent that every 2-3 weeks on my Abarth :) But then it was a lot more fun making it pop. Not sure it was value for money but I still secretly miss it:)

I sspecr tvat one rather large barrier is not having the ability to charge at home. If you have to charge out and about all the time the 'fuel' costs are just about the same.

Exactly. The well to do seem to quickly forget not everyone has a nice middle class driveway at home. Proven by various u tubers to actually work out dearer than diesel as the ev cars get half the range of a diesel tank. And then factor in the time eating battenburg and sandwiches with the crusts cut off you're onto a loser all day long .
