We are thinking of a last minute trip to Jersey next week. There is availability in the Rozel campsite but we would prefer something a bit more rustic. Does anyone know of any basic campsites on Jersey? All we really want is somewhere to park the van and access to a shower. Thanks.

I thought there were only 3 on the island that allowed camper vans - Rozel, Beuvelande and Daisy Cottage.

There are strict rules about no wild camping & you will only be allowed onto the island with a Campervan if you have a site booked.

We stayed at Rozel 3 years ago, it was ok but nothing special, we only went as we had a new puppy & it was the closest we could get to being abroad without a pet passport.

The strangest thing was that half the site appeared to be taken up with islanders that camped just to get away from home, the ones next to us went home twice a day to feed their cats.

We've stayed at The Palms a couple of times and quite like it.
The loos and showers are always clean, there is a bar and cafe type restaurant on site.
Occasionally there is a singer in the bar if that's your thing.
No cycling on site!
It's a 15 minute walk down to the beach at Greve de Lecq where there are 2 pubs and a cafe.

Our Jersey friends sometimes go to Beuvelande which is a bit more rustic so I am told, but I haven't been there.

When we booked a site, we were emailed the driving permit pretty much straight away by the site.

Jersey is well worth visiting, we always have enjoyed our visits.

We stayed at Beauvelande in the end. Absolutely fine although they crammed anyone who didn’t need electric together even though the site was generally quiet. But we found a good spot with plenty of space.

Just returned from Jersey last Friday stayed at

Rozels great site, Tosh the owner greeted us and said it’s your holiday park whichever way around you like, unlike club sites. You can order fresh bread and croissant for the next morning. Bus stop just outside.

Jersey Accommodation and Activity Centre, stayed here for 3 night, no hook up easy walk to Gorey although steep hill. external and basic dish washing facilities. Not sure they are taking booking. Would I revisit?

Beuvelande Campsite, facilities good shop and cafe not open at our time of visiting apparently very busy at weekends as locals use it and have campers permanently pitched. Easy to walk into St Martins. Bus services are great all around the Island and very cheap.

A nice 10 days all in all.
