Tapping the accelerator (or brake) would turn off coasting, it would assume you want to go faster so would engage drive.

Brake yes, but accelerator often it just goes back to coasting again.

Tapping the accelerator was me trying to coax the T6.1 to engage coasting when going downhill but often it insisted in staying in gear. Coasting is far more seamless in the T6. You take your foot off the accelerator and it always engages the coasting function.
