Last of the T6.1

Hi all, glad to be part of the this site and gathering some good advise. Will be picking up my new California ex demo on tuesday 18th feb (last of the T6.1 sadly) . Travelling to Manchester to pick up and then returning home to west sussex hope all goes well.

Good decision, we picked up our new 6.1 4 motion California late January, probably the last 4 motion version here in Australia. Only Beach versions imported here due to some complex government regulations around weight & registrations, however works perfectly with the German made Van Essa kitchens in the back, which frees up the whole interior for bedding & space to relax otherwise. The T7 will probably only be imported as Multivan or Transporter allowing camping versions to be made by the various companies offering this service.This can be costly & we’re not convinced they’re as ideal as the California version.
Anyway, hopefully will get many years of enjoyment & safe travelling out of whichever vehicle one owns…….

Btw, I believe Australia only got the Cali Beach as the Ocean has the one sliding door, opening into the road/traffic, and the Beach has sliding doors both sides. Australian regulators didn't like the one sliding door on the 'wrong ' side.
NZ VW dealers have a few T6.1 California Oceans left, all blue/silver, and all discounted between $13-$20,000 NZD.

In NZ we only get one model of Cali available, the Cali Ocean 4Motion 146kW 450Nm.
Full price starts at NZD $171,990-$173,990.(GBP 78,580) Now discounted to $149,990 (GBP 67,744)

That would seem a good buy based on second hand values and previous new prices. I guess adding two tone paint, electric sliding doors, digital cockpits etc are all additional, so depending on the specs the dealer had imported.
