Leaking window over sink

Every time it goes to the dealer it gets washed before returning and I’m pretty sure they use a jet wash... sigh...

Mine are told they can vacuum the inside but not wash it or they lose my custom in the future. Always returned clean inside and just as dirty outside.

The rear drain is hidden! It’s under the sliding window frame.... see the pic. I’m pouring water using pipette and it’s flowing through the drain.

Thank you for taking the time to do that picture its a big help. That drain was not blocked on mine but was very slow.
I managed to pop out the bottom of the sliding window with a trim tool and get the nozzle of an aerosol cleaner in there resulting in a big stream of black gunk down the side of the van and now much better flow through the drain. With the window slightly out of the way I could also do a much better job of cleaning the rear thin slot like drain next to the glass again flushing with the aerosol cleaner.

You can see from the picture below that the path to the rear drain is quite restricted for water ariving from the front channel, especially as when the window is shut the metal pin sits directly above it. I suspect this is why parking facing downhill seemed to help.

I hope this helps. After I requested the work involved for a Cali under warranty with a leaking nearside window, I haven’t checked the off side yet, they kindly sent me this as the protocol from VW for leaking windows.

They seem to be referring to a leaking window rather than the leaking drains. If the drains were fit for purpose and doing their job most people wouldn’t be aware of any “seepage” around the window. As said before the window can be replaced without disturbing the kitchen, despite VW wanting to! If the window is replaced ask/suggest that they check that the drains don’t leak before they fit.

I recommend putting some silicon grease on all worn and leaking rubber seals. It is a tip from a forum for owners of soft-top vehicles and I find it to be highly effective in restoring the seals. I buy mine from a specialist electronics store.
